Masters Antique Release Agent – Powder Release Agent for Stamped Concrete
Masters Antique Release Agent is a professional powder release agent for stamped concrete, specially formulated to facilitate the stamping process while creating an attractive and natural antique colour effect.
Applied to fresh concrete before stamping, it acts as an effective bond breaker between the concrete surface and stamping mats, helping prevent stamps and texture skins from sticking to the concrete. This allows patterns and textures to be reproduced cleanly and accurately while protecting the freshly worked surface.
Create a natural antique effect on stamped concrete
Masters Antique Release Agent also provides a secondary colour that settles naturally into the textured areas of the stamped surface. This subtle colour contrast highlights joints, reliefs and impressions, giving the finished concrete greater depth and a more realistic appearance.
Combined with a stamped concrete colour hardener, the release agent helps reproduce the nuanced appearance of natural materials such as stone, paving, slate, cobblestone or wood.
Available in a selection of 9 colours, it can be used to create subtle tone-on-tone effects or stronger contrasts depending on the desired decorative finish.

How to apply the stamped concrete release agent
Before application, the fresh concrete or stampable overlay should be smooth and properly levelled.
Using a dry Tampico brush, distribute Masters Antique Release Agent evenly over the surface before placing the stamping mats. The powder should form a uniform layer sufficient to prevent direct contact between the fresh concrete and the stamps.
Once the surface has been covered, the stamped concrete mats can be applied to create the desired pattern. During stamping, the release agent is partially embedded into the textured surface, producing the characteristic antiquing effect.
As the product is an extremely fine powder, surrounding walls, paving, landscaping and other surfaces should be protected during application, particularly in windy conditions.
