Masters Liquid Release Agent – Colourless Release Agent for Stamped Concrete
Masters Liquid Release Agent is a professional colourless liquid release agent for stamped concrete, specially formulated to prevent stamping mats and texture skins from sticking to fresh concrete during the imprinting process.
Applied before stamping, it creates a temporary barrier between the fresh concrete and the stamping tools, allowing the mats to be removed easily without damaging the surface, pulling up the concrete or affecting the quality of the pattern.
Unlike traditional powder release agents, Masters Liquid Release Agent does not add any secondary colour to the concrete. Its colourless formulation makes it particularly suitable when you want to preserve the original colour of the surface and achieve a clean, uniform decorative finish.
Why use a liquid release agent for stamped concrete?
During the stamping of fresh concrete, the stamping mats are pressed firmly into the surface to reproduce patterns such as natural stone, slate, paving, cobblestone or wood. Without a suitable release agent, the concrete may adhere to the stamps and damage the texture when the mats are removed.
Masters Liquid Release Agent acts as a bond breaker, making the stamping process easier and helping produce clean, detailed and consistent impressions.
It is ideal for professional stamped concrete and pattern imprinted concrete applications, including patios, terraces, driveways, pathways, pool surrounds and other decorative concrete surfaces.

How to apply Masters Liquid Release Agent
For best results, apply Masters Liquid Release Agent with a sprayer.
Spray a thin, even layer directly onto the stamping mats or texture skins before placing them onto the fresh concrete. Repeat the application approximately every two impressions to maintain sufficient release properties throughout the stamping process.
The product can also be sprayed directly onto the fresh concrete surface before stamping.
Make sure that all areas likely to come into contact with the concrete are sufficiently covered before pressing the stamps into the surface.
Liquid vs powder release agent
A liquid release agent is an excellent alternative to traditional powder release agents when a secondary antiquing colour is not required.
Powder release agents can create contrasting shades that enhance the relief and depth of stamped concrete. However, their application can generate airborne powder and may require additional cleaning after stamping.
Masters Liquid Release Agent provides a cleaner and simpler stamping process, while preserving the original colour of the concrete. It is therefore particularly suitable for contemporary stamped concrete finishes or projects where a uniform colour is preferred.
